Current Obsessions & Objections – December 2017

The final Current Obsessions of 2017! I decided not to do a round up of the years favourite bits, I’d just end up repeating myself and anyway…I want to show you a few things I’m loving now! Let’s get straight in to it!

Starting off with the first 3 things, they’re all from NABLA Cosmetics…the indie brand from Italy has fast become one of my favourite go to brands of 2017 in general, but there’s a few things that I’ve just not been able to get enough of recently! I wanted to mention NABLA’s Dreamy Eyeshadow Palette (you can read more about it and see swatches here) which has definitely made it to travel palette status…basically it’s been it’s been the one palette I can rely on to take with me when I’m away to go from natural to grunge and everywhere in between! Such a beautiful palette and the quality of the shadows if off the chart!

NABLA Blush in Nectarine has been giving me life…it’s so pretty but literally too! I’m not usually a massive blush fan/ wearer, but during the dull Winter months this has been the main thing that makes me look alive! You need the tiniest bit with the same super pigmentation we’ve become used to from NABLA. Nectarine’s a universally flattering shade…I’ve been contouring/ highlighting as usual, but just applying a small pop of this blended from my contour up on to the outside apple of my cheeks and it brightens and fakes health stat!

NABLA Eyeshadow in Water Dream…like no other formula I’ve used! It’s described as a nude top coat wet effect with reflective pearls and that’s pretty accurate in my opinion. The NABLA shadows are available in singles and in pan form too which is always good! Water Dream has a really unusual transparent nude base and with the reflective pearls you’d think it’d be glittery, but no…it’s gives you a true glossy, wet look effect. It’s creamy and smooth to apply and can be used dry or wet. Gorgeous either on it’s own buffed over the lid to add texture and shine, to highlight other shadows as a top coat or my own favourite way to use it…inner corner highlight, it’s lush!

*NABLA is a cruelty free of course but the majority of products are Vegan too!

With it being the festive season and all, it would have been rude not to include a glitter in here! I love a bit of glitter, but it can completely contradict my love of all things grunge…this one though is grunge in glitter form and it’s stun! I’m talking about the OCC Glitter in Scarab. Cruelty free and Vegan, this OCC Glitter is one of the most usual and unmistakable shades…Scarab is a dark and grungy green base with duo chromatic gold-orange shifts. It almost takes on a burgundy look in some lights too and it’s just the prettiest (see grungiest) glitter I ever did see! I’ve been using it for loads of eye looks recently and usually pat it over the top of NYX Glitter Glue* for an all day wear and intensity that dreams are made of! TIP: Use OCC Scarab pressed over black nail polish for a beetle like shift…yesss!

I’ve been obsessed with the Catrice Volumizing Lip Booster in 010 SomeBARE Over The Rainbow. There’s not a huge amount to this plumping gloss really, apart from the fact in really works! Available in 3 shades, but I just love how this one is your lips but better and a healthy shine you know? It contains jojoba and almond oil to keep your lips hydrated and smooth (so great for disguising fine lines) and menthol ingredients to add volume and define the lips. It doesn’t give you that extreme throb that some can, but you can definitely feel something happening and see the difference in your lips almost straight away. Works really well as a base under liquid lipsticks (I’d always blot the excess away first with a tissue) to stop them drying your lips out and it’s just a gorgeous ‘throw it on and look a million times better’ product! It’s so inexpensive too and out preforms a lot of more expensive plumpers I’ve tried, so I’ll need to pick up some back ups of this!

Lone Wolf Cosmetics/ Takin’ Care Of Lashes 3D Silk and Velour and Cruelty Free/ Vegan Lash in The Queen. Their lashes are the longest lasting lashes I have ever tried (I’ve had one pair of my faves for nearly a year now and they’re still going strong!) and I’ve been a massive fan of their other styles for a while now…especially my ride or die full and fluffy lash, The Agenda. I was looking for a more natural length lash, still with volume and length but something I could wear in the day or out for dinner or something if I fancied and thought I’d give one of their newer styles a go. In love! Just enough oomph, without looking too full on…I bloody love these! Very pretty, surprisingly comfortable for a faux mink/ silk lash…light weight and thin cotton band means I’ll be wearing these often!

It’s no surprise that I have another piece of Bloody Mary Metal gracing my current obsessions! I already love my Crossbones and Lonely Bone so of course had to pick up their little sister Crypt…I’d had my eye on it for ages, so thought ‘feck it, why not’ during the Black Friday discounts and I’m glad I did! It’s the perfect addition to my collection and I’ve been wearing it so much! I love that it’s a more petite/ delicate style so pretty to wear day to day alone, but still holds it own with my chunkier/ more statement rings! From me to me gifting at it’s finest!

Short but sweet this time I know and I don’t have any objection to speak of (which is probably a good thing!)…but I’ve got loads of things that I’m trying at the moment and hopefully a few new bits coming my way over the holidays, so I’ll be showing you the things and sharing my thoughts soon!

What have you been obsessed with recently??

Happy Holidays to all of you and thank you so much for hanging out with me here/ reading in 2017…it means so much! ❤️ Hope you all have a good one!
