Jouer Sunswept Bronzer Duo Review

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of Jouer base/ skin products, I’ve spoken about them here before. In particular I’ve been loving their Essential High Coverage Foundation (read more here…recently I’ve been mixing half and half with my Too Faced Born This Way Foundation UK*/ IE* and it’s the most beautiful high coverage, but natural look and feel combo in life!) and Essential High Coverage Liquid Concealer (check that one out here) so with that, needing a lighter shade Winter bronzer and seeing Nikkie Tutorials constantly using this one and raving about it in her YouTube videos (and it looked like the exact kind of shade I was after)…I thought I’d give the Jouer Sunswept Bronzing Duo* a go!

Jouer are one of my favourite cruelty free brands anyway…impressive high preforming formulas and plenty of ingredients I look for in base products across the range (hello Hyaluronic Acid). Long wearing and highly pigmented products that I’ve come to reach for on a daily. I love their sleek minimalist yet luxe looking (and user friendly…really compact and secure which is great for travel) packaging!

The Sunswept Bronzer Duo’s come in 2 shade waves*…Sunlight/ Suntan (light-medium and the one I use) and Sunkissed/ Sunset (medium-deep). They’re velvety matte and not shimmery (which I prefer) but they have a slight texture that imparts glow without actual glitter or obvious shine. I really like how you get 2 complimentary shades (one softer and a little warmer and a slightly deeper more neutral tan option)…the lighter one’s perfect for believable general warmth (even on my fair skin that can go orange fast with the wrong bronzer shade!) and the deeper (still very natural looking) shade is perfect to add a bit of extra depth and contour through the back of you cheeks (nearest your ears). Sometimes I just swirl them both together and you still get a really natural shade. The formula’s infused with vitamin e to smooth the skin and the powders have a super silky texture so blend out like a dream over bare skin or any other base products.

No streaks, no powdery look on the skin…I feel like I’ve found a holy grail here! I still love the ABH Bronzer formula (I use the shade Rosewood*) and there’s a few other more affordable ones in my rotation too (Milani Baked Bronzers* are lovely as are the Makeup Geek Luster Bronzers and Physician Formula Butter Bronzers…all have a decent shade selection too, so you’re bound to find one that works for you) but the Jouer Sunswept Duo* is definitely a perma healthy glow feature in my everyday makeup bag!
