Kat Von D Beauty – New In Products (UK/ Ireland) – Review

Since it’s initial UK/ Ireland launch at Debenhams online* on 13th September 2016 and flagship Oxford Street counter on 5th October 2016, Kat Von D Beauty has been introducing more and more products to the UK/ Ireland market for us to get our hands on. There’s been a few recent beauts added to the range, which I’m going to share with you along with my thoughts, as well as (just in case you’ve missed them) including the UK/ Ireland new counter launch dates! So…what’s new?

First up, something I was personally really excited about (not about that natural dark under eye life, ugh), the KVD Beauty Lock It Brightening Powders*. Available in 3 brightening shades…Petal (pink for light skin tones), Peach (warm peach for medium skin tones) and Golden (yellow for deep skin tones or as a universal ‘banana powder’). It’s a weightless, tinted loose powder that instantly brightens the under eye area, promising to make eyes look younger and more awake, with no cake and designed to be paired with the Lock It Concealer Creme* although I’ve tried it with other concealers too and it works equally as well. You can also use it as a matte highlight on medium – deep skin tones and all over setting powder. I might try it, but most likely I’ll stick to my neutral Lock It Setting Powder* for that as I do prefer a more neutral base in general.
The Brightening Powders have a good level of pigment, whilst still appearing natural. They set under eye concealer smoothly, without adding texture and noticeably blurs and brightens. It does exactly what it says on the tin and I’m a fan. I imagine the pot will last me ages, as you do only need the tiniest bit (you might get through it quicker if you’re properly baking with it), but I’ll definitely be repurchasing this when I’m finished! Next, the KVD Beauty Lock It Makeup Setting Mist*. A refreshing, weightless micro- mist (I love how fine this spray is!), it claims to lock in makeup for up to 24 hours and a ‘full eight hours longer than other setting sprays’. A bold claim and amazing if it does, however in reality I’m not going to wear makeup for more than 12 hours max, so I guess I won’t be finding out, ha ha. It feels totally undetectable on the skin, you don’t feel any tight sensation or sticky residue going on. It feels so comfortable on and smells good! It has a refreshing (and not over powering) cucumber scent that really gives you a boost every time you spray. After using the Lock It Makeup Setting Mist, not only did my skin look smoother and makeup look better…I did feel it made my makeup last and look significantly fresher for longer! So it was pleasant to use and actually did the job. I’m a face toucher (I do wear long wear products for that very reason, ha ha, but I can get occasional skin smudges even with that!) and nothing smudged or moved throughout the day, which is pretty impressive! Especially good going for a mist that feels really good to use when applying and then feels like absolutely nothing on!

So the Setting Mist and Brightening powder were the main reason we’re here today, but I wanted to also briefly mention 2 other new comers to the Kat Von D Beauty range at Debenhams…

Kat Von D Beauty Lock It Foundation shade extensions* – the cult favourite, full coverage and long wearing KVD foundation is finally now available (in the UK and Ireland) in all 30 of its wide spectrum of shades! Especially music to my ears…although I have been able to get hold of my Light 45 summer shade from Debenhams since September, with it being Winter and my skin a good bit paler than that at the moment, I’ve still had to order my Winter Light 43 shade from Sephora. There’s something for everyone now too, which is obviously great news! Read more about the Lock It Foundation here.

Kat Von D Beauty The Bow N Arrow Look Set* – another newbie worth a mention…a set containing mini versions of 2 of the range’s best sellers. It contains a mini Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade Bow N Arrow and a mini Ink Liner in the shade Trooper. Both long wear and waterproof, highly pigmented and a great way to try some Kat Von D Beauty products if you haven’t already, or even have tried them already, but some mini versions would be great for travel. Bow N Arrow is one of my most worn lip shades, a fawn nude and really pretty on!

Lastly, as I mentioned at the start, exciting times ahead…new Kat Von D Beauty counters will be springing up around the Uk and Ireland during 2017 starting in the Spring and possibly at a city near you! Finally in store swatching for those of you unfamiliar with the brand!
