Keeping Up With The Kush…Milk Makeup Is Here!! (100% Vegan Brand)

‘Good ingredients. Epic payoff. Cruelty-free. Paraben-free. 100% Vegan’…US cult favourite, one of the cleanest (and coolest) beauty brands around Milk Makeup has finally landed at Cult Beauty* for all us UK/ Ireland folk and I couldn’t be more excited!

A relatively new brand in the grand scheme of things (created by the founders of Milk Studios New York/ LA in 2016) and much hyped and coveted thanks mainly due to YouTube and social media/ influencer exposure! Milk Makeup has only been available to fans in the US…until now! UK stockists Cult Beauty* now stock their products and ship them to UK and Ireland. As of right now unfortunately not to anywhere else EU/ rest of the world, but here’s hoping that follows and soon! Cult Beauty already have a pretty decent selection of the line (I hope they extend that though and especially to skincare minis and makeup minis…great for travel and to try stuff out without committing to full size straight off the bat!)…there’s a few things they won’t be stocking eg. skin stuff with SPF (US and EU SPF guidelines are different) and there’ll always be the brand website exclusives, but yeah I’m pretty pleased that they seem to have all the main hero products/ cult favourites for us to try/ stock up on!

Milk have a whole load of innovative makeup and skin care products to choose from, but the range that sparked my interest the most…the new (ish…new for us anyway!) Kush range! ‘Fire lashes. Dope brows. Lush lips.’ The Kush collection (there’s mascara, clear/ tinted brow gels, lip balm and lip glaze so far) focuses on the use and conditioning properties of hemp-derived cannabis oil. It seems like it’s the ‘it’ ingredient of the moment (mainly in skincare and across multiple brands)…but why cannabis oil Milk? Well it seems it’s something they’d been thinking of from the start but more so when they started thinking about creating and coming out with a vegan, high volume fibre mascara. Beeswax is a common binding agent (the thing that brings all ingredients together and makes the formula smooth and creamy for application) in most mascara formulas, but obviously not vegan so that’s where the hemp-derived cannabis oil comes in! It’s vegan for a start, it’s creamy texture allows smoother application (and means it’s also easier to get off without scrubbing!) and it’s super conditioning too!

The Kush High Volume Mascara* was one of the things I actually picked up, along with the Kush Fiber Brow Gel* (I got the tinted version in the shade Dutch for brows in a hurry on cba/ minimal makeup days) and the Kush Lip Glaze*. I also got a bonus mini makeup bag with a Kush Mascara mini and mini’s of the Blur Stick Primer and Lip + Cheek Tint in the shade ‘Werk’ which are handy so I’m interested to give those a go too!

I’ve so far only had chance to try the Kush Fiber Brow Gel* and Kush Mascara*…and so far impressed! I’ll give it more of a go (I’ve only had it/ been using it a few days) before making a full judgement haha, but so far the mascara’s definitely living up to the hype! It reminds me a bit of a longer wearing, more volume Too Faced Better Than Sex* (one of my all time favourite mascaras) which can only be a good thing! If you want me to do full reviews on any of the Milk Makeup products, let me know…get in touch! Chances are some will be coming your way anyway as I use more of their stuff and figure out my thoughts. I’m hopeful of finding some things I love here!

Did you pick anything up to try? Or have you tried something before and love it?? Milk Makeup is exclusively available for UK/ Ireland peeps from Cult Beauty now*! Any of you guys that want to shop Milk from the US can find it here. Check out their Instagram feed here.
