The LASplash Ultra Define Brow Mousse* isn’t a new product to me at this stage, but I just wanted to take a minute to talk about it as I think it’s such an overlooked product! I always get asked about affordable and other cruelty free alternatives/ dupes for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow* (which I also really like and use regularly myself!)…there are many and some pretty good ones at that but this one takes some beating in my opinion. I love it!
All LASplash recent packaging has been so pretty and these are no exception! These little beauties come in the same (just obviously a smaller size) rose gold sphere pot as the UD Foundation (read more about that here). As the name suggests, instead of the traditional ‘pomade’ firm cream type product, this one is a super lightweight and highly pigmented whipped mousse formula. It’s available in 6 natural, something for everyone, shades (I’ll also include the ABH comparison/ shade it’s most similar to):
➕ Hydrangea Taupe – light blonde taupe (ABH Dip Brow Blonde)
➕ Maple Lily – cool dark taupe (ABH Dip Brow Taupe)
➕ Cinnamon Daisy – warm true medium brown (ABH Dip Brow Soft Brown)
➕ Chocolate Cosmo – warm dark chocolate brown (ABH Dip Brow Chocolate)
➕ Carnaby Orchid – cool dark brown (ABH Dip Brow Medium Brown)
➕ Dhalia – cool deep brown/ black (ABH Dip Brow Granite)
I mainly use ABH Dip Brow in Medium Brown, so alternate and use together the shades Maple Lily (for a softer brow or through the front of my brows) and Carnaby Orchid (for a stronger brow look or to add extra definition to the tail of my brows). I love how although there’s only those 6 shades, they’re a good variety and plenty of cooler toned options (brows in general are naturally cooler in tone).
LaSplash are famed for their waterproof formulas (their liquid lipstick and Art-Ki-Tect (read more here – fun fact; one of my first ever reviews!) liquid liner pen are amazing!) and the Brow Mousse is waterproof too! A workout, a long day at work, even on these hot and sticky weather days we’ve been having…it doesn’t budge! The formula takes a little bit of getting used to, but once you get the hang of it (you will) it’s actually so quick and easy to apply! The mousse itself although highly pigmented is a wetter consistency than traditional pomades (and doesn’t dry out as quickly either!) so you only need a tiny bit and it’s great for achieving a more brow hair effect with a fine angled brush (I always use the ABH #12 dual ended angled brush* for precision). The formula is so light and glides effortlessly on with no waxy build up or harsh edges that you can sometimes get with a pomade. I like to go in with really light hair strokes and then build the colour up towards the outer part (tail) of the brow for a natural but defined finish. As always with LASplash, the Ultra define Brow Mousse in cruelty free. This is also Vegan and Gluten free.
One of my all time favourite brow products for sure! Affordable, long wearing and an innovative formula that applies like an absolute dream. If you’re looking for a change, for something a little less spendy than the ABH or just after a cruelty free/ vegan option…this could be the guy for you!
