NEW Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer – Review

I was so excited to try out the new Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealers*! I’m already a fan of other products from the TF BTW range (specifically the foundation!) and you know me…can’t get enough of complexion products in general and always on the hunt for an even better than the last ‘holy grail’ concealer, foundation or powder!

So concealers…I usually have quite a few on the go even when not testing new ones, I like to have a bit of a concealer wardrobe going on to cater for every mood, finish and coverage need! Some of the ones I gravitate to the most on a daily basis/ always have in my rotation are…Tarte Shape Tape, Urban Decay All Nighter Concealer, NABLA Close Up Concealer and the Revolution Conceal and Define. There’s loads of others I use and love…search concealers and reviews/ info for most will pop up. I personally prefer using a fuller coverage with a real skin finish, so not too matte so it dries out my under eye (and makes me look ancient) and not so hydrating it takes a tonne of setting powder and makes my eye makeup run. Somewhere in between in perf and although full coverage, I normally use them pretty minimally…I like having the option of easily upping my coverage if I want/ need, but love how a tiny bit of a fuller coverage covers and looks as apposed to having to use loads of a sheerer formula.

Let’s take a look at what we’re here for, Too Faced BTW Super Coverage Concealer* and find out what it’s about…

✖️ Available in 20 shades.

✖️ Cruelty free, Vegan and Gluten/ Paraben free.

✖️ Super/ full buildable coverage with a weightless, hydrating and undetectable look/ feel.

✖️ Oil free formula and long wearing for 12 hour wear.

✖️ Photo friendly/ zero flashback.

✖️ Multi-use formula – conceal, contour, highlight and retouch.

✖️ 15ml/ 0.50 fl. oz.

First things first…it’s huge! (Shape Tape for eg. has 10ml of product for a similar price) The applicator itself is also on the larger side of things, but…it’s a diamond shaped doe foot applicator, unlike any other out there (or at least that I’ve seen!). This allows precision concealing, highlighting and contouring with it’s sides, points and edges as well as still having that flat surface too so great for covering larger areas. Too Faced describe it as natural full coverage, which I’d definitely agree with. I’ve been using it under my eyes (mainly) and as extra coverage on any blemishes over foundation and I’ve used it instead of foundation too…it works brilliantly for using solo! Although it does have that fuller coverage, it’s real skin finish makes it sit really well on the skin without looking like a mask if used all over or to spot conceal instead of foundation and it applies/ blends out perfectly! I’ve tried applying it with a brush (works well/ doesn’t really effect the coverage side of things much) but my favourite way to apply is (as pretty much always) with a damp beauty blender sponge (I love the NYX Flawless Finish Blending Sponge*).

I always set my under eye (usually with the Kat Von D Lock It Brightening Powder in Petal*) but I feel like if you had drier skin, you wouldn’t have to…it doesn’t crease and wears well throughout the day either way. My skin’s combo for the most part and doesn’t get dry really under my eyes, but can look it with a too heavy/ matte concealer. This has a considerably more forgiving finish than Tarte Shape Tape (it feels less drying under the eyes too) but feels less tacky than the OG BTW concealer. In my opinion a comparable if not better coverage than Shape Tape (there was always going to be comparison made between these and any other full coverage claiming concealer that hits the market!) but with a less drying, beautiful real skin finish. You only need the tiniest bit, so a tube is going to last you an age! It builds really well, so I’d suggest using little and going in with more if needed. Apart from the coverage, finish and staying power obviously, something else I’ve been loving about the Too Faced BTW Super Coverage…it doesn’t smell! Rejoice! Even a few of my ride or die’s that I mentioned earlier are pretty heavily scented, it’s a case of ignoring it because the formula’s good…not with this!

I’ve been using the shades Swan and Snow for my skin tone (which is fair with neutral to golden undertones) and they both work really well for me. One thing I would say though, they’re the two lightest shades and they’re not far off my actual skin colour (Swan is more of a neutral golden undertone and Snow neutral pink) so I personally (and anyone also fair) can’t highlight my skin with them, but concealing…perfect and if I didn’t already have preferred cream contour products, there’s be a good few shades to choose from for that. The shade range is pretty decent, of course medium shades dominate but it’s good to see darker tones catered for well even if they could maybe do with a few lighter again shades (there’s only really Swan and Snow that are truly fair).

I love the Too Faced BTW Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer*! I feel like it’s be a tough one to beat. I’ll still use others, but I feel like if I need serious coverage in a hurry and don’t want to look caked…this’ll be my go to!

Have you tried it yet??
