Hello!
Welcome everyone to my brand spanking new website and blog!
So this is my very first (albeit not really proper) blog post! I have no idea who I’m talking to yet…but I have to say, I’m excited to find out! For you to get to know me, me to get to know you all and to talk (ahem…obsess!) all things beauty, makeup and no doubt all the random life stuff in between!
All of this is totally new to me, so please find it in your hearts to be patient and kind, ha ha. Hopefully, I’ll gain more writing/ editing/ blogging clue as I go! Talk to me too…what are you enjoying? What would you like to talk about? Any products I need to try? Excited!
Anyway, ok…I should really tell you all a bit about me and this blog!
So, I’m Lyd (you obviously know this already, but I thought it was a good place to start!) and I’m a Professional Freelance Makeup Artist, beauty obsessive and now Blogger!..I guess.
From and currently based in beautiful North Wales, but also spend a great deal of my time (both work and pleasure) in Dublin. Why you ask? Apart from Dublin being one of my favourite cities in the world, I’m also married to an eejit (the way he said I should describe him to you) from Dublin and we both have some very good friends both there and down in Cork (which I also love!). Following my blog, will also mean that you follow me to such places and hopefully have I more of you to chat with on both sides, yay! (I’ll also bear this in mind when talking about product prices/ currency and stockists etc!)
We live with our Long Haired Cream Mini Dachshund (Sausage dog) called Gwen (yes, I am a massive Gwen Stefani/ No Doubt fan!), who I’m pretty sure you’ll meet at some point. She has slight stalker tendencies at times and is nearly always around, so I can imagine she’ll feature somewhere!
I’m privately and professionally trained in all aspects of Makeup Artistry and have been in the industry now for nearly twelve years! Can’t believe it’s been that long, but I wouldn’t change it…even though it taken a lot of work to get me to the point I am at today and is very hard work at times, I feel really lucky and fortunate that I get to do something, everyday, that I love and am passionate about.
Being a Makeup Artist myself, doesn’t mean that I don’t still love watching YouTube videos and reading other people’s blogs (fellow artists and novices alike!) and that’s what’s ultimately inspired me to start my own. That and also my clients/ friends…worrying sometimes about ‘bothering’ me, asking questions, needing hints, tips, advice, an opinion or even just a bit of good old purchase enabling, ha ha! Far from bothering me…I love it! Talking about something I’m so passionate about gives me life!
I’m hoping that this blog will be not only a reference to all my lovely friends/ clients and of course, enjoyable for me, but maybe of interest/ helpful to more of you too!
It might take me a bit to get used to this blog stuff, but I am hoping to post as regularly as I can! Tutorials, pro makeup and beauty hacks, product reviews, hauls and general chat…hopefully a good mixed bag of content and somewhere for me to spill my brain ramblings (not literally, that sounds gross, but you know what I mean!) and talk all things makeup.

I’m now based in Cork, Ireland. Although I do still take select bookings for North Wales/ Cheshire and Dublin (get in touch for more info) and am available to travel country wide…I’m mainly taking makeup bookings for Cork City and surrounding areas.
