US brand Dose Of Colors recently came out with 2 new matte eyeshadow palettes…Baked Browns and Marvellous Mauves. They’ve finally landed at Beautybay* too (so will be way easier to get hold of for us UK/ Ireland and indeed Europe people now), although currently sold out out…but you’re going to want to keep an eye out here* and on Beautybay’s social media accounts for a restock though as these shadows are something else!
I’ve got another exciting new eyeshadow palette post coming up (so keep an eye out for that one!) but really wanted to give this one a mention. The other palette…Marvelous Mauves would be a great choice if you prefer cooler tones with it’s super wearable and flattering shades of lilac and plum, but as you know already I went for the Baked Browns. Predictable yes, yes it’s another warm brown palette and yes it’s something I have far too many to count of already, but I’d heard so many good things about the DOC shadows specifically this palette! I’m definitely not disappointed and am glad I picked this up!
It’s quite a compact sized palette (even though the shadows are regular/ full size) which makes it perfect for travel or keeping in your makeup bag as an everyday ‘go to’ and you have everything you could need to take you from day to night, simple to smokey and sultry. A really good everyday palette and something that would suit pretty much anyone with any colour eye! Beautiful warm matte neutrals consisting of:
➕ Tea Light – off white
➕ Deserted – sandy caramel beige
➕ Outdoorsy – tawny peach brown
➕ Cherrywood – reddish rusty brown
➕ Rock Bottom – deep chocolate brown
The shadows are ultra pigmented, possibly one of the most pigmented formulas I’ve ever tried (and that’s a lot!)…you barely need to touch the shadow with your brush! They feel so buttery soft, the smoothest texture and effortlessly blendable. You can build up intensity using the smallest amount of product and although it has a little kick up in the pan (lots of highly pigmented shadows do in my experience) it has minimal fall out, none at all if you tap off excess from your brush. The palette is also:
➕ Cruelty Free
➕ Talc Free
➕ Paraben Free
This little rose gold beauty also comes with a decent enough brush. Double ended and quite small (I’d prefer bigger, fluffier brushes for blending) but brilliant for touch ups and for smudging the lower lash line out.
I can’t really recommend these shadows enough! I can see the Dose Of Colors Baked Browns Palette being one of my most reached for in my personal makeup bag and will travel with me for sure! I’ve already tried and really like the DOC liquid lipstick formula and their new highlights are gorgeous too, but I can’t wait to get my hands on more of their shadows!
